Parcul Tineretului (Tineretului Park)
Tineretului Park is a bit different from the rest of the parks in Bucharest mainly because of its wild and irregualr landscape. The architect who planned the project for this green area, Valentin Donose, thought of the people living in the southern part of the city and create for them a wide place where they can go for a walk, practise any kind of sports, go boating and so on.
The park resembles a quasi-mountain area with hills and valleys, forests and grasslands, lakes and paths and places where people can play football or even baseball. Building the park began in 1965 and lasted till 1974, the acutal plans had been already made back in 1935. It also includes the huge Sports Hall (Sala Polivalenta) where it's fairs and concerts that usually happen rather than sports competitions.

There are several playgrounds for kids, a sports and concerts field, and a large pub on the lake - Cafeneaua Actorilor de Vara (Actors' Summer Cafe). What impresses most at this place is the fact that apparently it doesn't stand the slightest sense of geometry. The hills are top favourite for bikers and the paved alleys for skate-boarders.
Unfortunately the park was not spared from loud music and kitsch-like stuff sold by gypsies along the alleys. That's only happening at the main entrance in the park - from Dimitrie Cantemir Boulevard and Sincai Highscool. There are also secondary entrances - near the Sports Hall(Tineretului Boulevard) and from Calea Serban Voda, on the right side of the park.
